FAQs

  • No, unfortunately, Medicare rebates aren’t available for counselling or coaching sessions—thanks to those oh-so-helpful Aussie government rules (cue the eye roll).

  • I believe in giving you the time you need—because let’s face it, one-size-fits-all isn’t how life works. Here’s the scoop:

    • 60 minutes: Longer than most other providers sessions, because you’re worth it and my clients leave feeling heard and having security around next steps.

    • 90 minutes: For when you need extra time to explore the big stuff.

    • There are 30 & 60min Accountability Phone Call sessions that are perfect for in-between the longer appointments. These are really helpful for check-in’s for any clients who are working on implementing new tools and strategies.

    • I also offer ‘once off’ 90 & 120min Coaching Sessions. These can be ‘In-person or Online’.

First sessions? They are always 90 minutes. Why? There’s a bit of admin we have to cover first (sorry, rules are rules), but then there’s still loads of time to focus on you, and set a plan for your needs.

Sadly (For me) I have lots of ADMINISTRATION that needs to happen on my end - and most of that gets covered off either before the first session if we can arrange it or we will try to minimise how it may cut into therapy time for you (The Client!). I then ensure you have copies of everything that I may have asked you to sign. You can always ask questions at any point !

  • What we discuss stays between us—100% private and secure. For the legal fine print, check out my privacy policy, or just ask if you’ve got questions.

That said, there are a few exceptions I’m legally required to act on. These include:

    • If I believe you’re at risk of harming yourself or someone else.

    • If you disclose any form of child abuse.

    • If the courts legally demand your records.

Outside of these, nothing is shared unless you give me written permission to do so, for example, if you want me to liaise with a health professional or another support person.

When I ask you to sign either a ‘Walk/Sit & Talk’ or a ‘Telehealth' ‘Client Consent’ form - they will includes conversations around this topic of Privacy & Confidentiality - please take particular notice of your client responsibilities around this before signing. If you have any questions - I am only to happy to discuss this with you.

  • Life’s hectic, I get it. That’s why I offer after-hours appointments on some workdays. If the booking calendar offerings don’t work for you, please reach out, and together we may be able to find a solution.

I usually see clients from Wednesday to Friday, and once a month, I offer limited Saturday sessions. Let’s make it work for us both!

  • I use secure, easy-to-use online platforms (like Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or Video platforms like ZOOM) that work on smartphones, tablets, laptops, or PCs.

You don’t need to download anything it will just pop up on your browser (That is for those of you who don’t already have those online meeting platforms installed). You will simply choose your preference when you make your online booking.

All you need is a good/stable internet connection, a camera, and a mic—no sign-ups or app downloads required.

My preference is for you to have your device on a stable desk, a log, or perhaps a side table so it isn’t moving around. Because….that becomes way too distracting for all involved. Happy for you to be anywhere (inside or out) as long as your connection & privacy requirements are met!

Prefer outdoors and in-person appointments ? If your a Huon Valley local, or keen to visit the Huon Valley in Southern Tasmania - I offer Walk/Sit & Talk OUTDOOR sessions in peaceful, pre-selected spots. I am happy for calm dogs to be a part of the session, however, we need to talk about this and agree to some practical conditions before hand.

For any local Corporate Clients or Support Groups, you can easily opt for in-person options. I mostly work within the Huon Valley, However I will consider travel - I am open to conversations around this.

Where/However we meet, find a comfortable, private, and safe space where you can fully relax. Check in advance that you will have stable connections…… and I always suggest to clients that they schedule in some time to enjoy some down time before and after our chat. This helps with self-regulation, feeling prepared and organised (less rushed), and it also allows for thinking about what you would like to get out of that days session, and at the end - it is a wonderful gift to round out the session time if you allow quiet time for processing what has come up for you with that particular session in a way that is kind and helpful towards yourself.

  • Your first 15-minute discovery call is free!
It’s a quick chat to see if we’re the right fit (and yes, that goes both ways).

We won’t solve all your life’s mysteries in 15 minutes, but you’ll get a feel for whether I’m the right person to help. And if I’m not, I’ll happily point you towards someone who might be.

To book, just use the contact form and let me know your availability—I’ll do my best to accommodate.

  • Let’s keep it simple—payment is required upfront when booking. You can pay securely using the payment options listed on your invoice.

If finances are tight, please just let me know. I’m here to help, not stress you out. Flexibility is key—don’t be afraid to ask. If I can help - I will.

  • Here’s the deal: If you cancel late (or forget your session entirely), someone else misses out on your spot—and I still have bills to pay.

Emergencies? Cancel within 24 hours and request a 50% refund by letting me know in writing. I’ll confirm your request within 24 hours of your scheduled session.

Rescheduling? Easy and free if done at least 3 working days in advance.

Forget your appointment entirely? Unfortunately, the fee is non-refundable. I get that life happens—just rebook when you’re ready, and we’ll pick up where we left off.

I’ll cover all the finer details in your initial appointment info, but feel free to ask questions. This isn’t about being harsh—it’s about setting healthy boundaries for both of us.

  • Absolutely—Continuous ongoing learning is a non-negotiable for me.

I'm committed to staying up to date and continually expanding my skills so I can bring the very best to each and every session.

I regularly engage in professional supervision, mentoring, and specialist training, and I actively seek out learning from global leaders in their fields. Whether it’s webinars, global summits, or targeted professional development in niche areas, I’m constantly building on my knowledge base and adding new tools to my therapeutic toolkit.

Just ask me—I’m always happy to nerd out about what I’m currently learning! There’s so much extraordinary research and practice happening globally, I honestly need another 50 hours a week just to keep up with it all!

What this means for you is that you're not just getting the “me” of today—you’re working with a practitioner who’s committed to ongoing growth, who stays curious, and who embraces the ever-evolving world of therapeutic approaches. Thanks to the generosity of researchers, clinicians, and thought-leaders around the world—and the magic of the internet—I can keep bringing fresh, effective, and practical strategies into our work together.

  • Reduced Rates for Ongoing Clients

Clients who commit to regular ongoing sessions (weekly or fortnightly) may be eligible for reduced session rates. I have a limited number of one‑on‑one client appointments available each week, and booking ongoing sessions in advance helps secure your preferred day and time.

Many clients—particularly those booking after‑hours appointments—prefer to keep the same regular slot. When sessions occur consistently, preparation time between appointments is usually reduced and the therapeutic work can build more smoothly from one session to the next.

Regular sessions also tend to produce stronger and more consistent outcomes, as we are able to track progress, adjust strategies, and support change as it unfolds in real time.

Because of this, I’m able to offer the reduced rates listed below to clients who commit to ongoing sessions in advance. If you're unsure what schedule would suit you best, we can always discuss this during your first appointment and find an approach that feels manageable and supportive.

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD).

    A Quick Word About Value

Think of counselling as an investment in yourself.

Many people invest in personal growth through things like fitness coaching, courses, professional mentoring, or health treatments that support their wellbeing. Counselling offers similar benefits—it provides space, tools, and support to help you better understand yourself and navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

For many people, the insights and changes that come from this work can be genuinely life‑changing.

And truly—you are worth that investment.

    Reduced‑Fee Appointments

I do offer a small number of sliding‑scale appointments for clients experiencing genuine financial hardship.

If finances are currently a barrier, please reach out and we can discuss whether a reduced‑fee space may become available. These places are limited and occasionally have a waiting list, but I will always do my best to support people where possible.

Q: Do you undertake ongoing training and professional development?

Absolutely — ongoing professional development is a non‑negotiable part of my work.

I regularly participate in professional supervision, mentoring, and specialist training to ensure I continue expanding my knowledge and skills. This includes learning from respected international practitioners through webinars, summits, and targeted training programs in areas relevant to my work.

This commitment means you are not just working with the counsellor I am today—you are benefiting from a practitioner who is continually learning, evolving, and bringing new insights into the work we do together.

If you have any questions about fees or payment options, please feel free to ask. Transparency matters, and I'm always happy to discuss what might work best for you.
